Each time my
family and I visit Key West, Florida we always stop at Sarabeth's
restaurant. This restaurant is modern twist on traditional American
cuisine. Bill & Sarabeth Levine (husband and wife) started a small
bakery; in 1981 that specialized in homemade preserves, soups and baked
goods. It wasn't until 1986 the Key West restaurant opened up. Currently
the Sarabeth's restaurants in Key West and New York City. Sarabeth's
offers a variety of meals for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. One
of my personal favorite breakfast meals is the key west pink shrimp and
bacon omelet. This is not your average omelet; this has fresh shrimp and
farm fresh bacon with a choice of bread; sourdough toast or 8-grain
toast, pumpkin muffin or corn muffin. To complete the meal you must try
some of Sarabeth's homemade marmalade. For breakfast you should also try
their almond crusted cinnamon French toast and lemon ricotta pancakes.
Not only is breakfast good, but lunch and dinner are spectacular as
well. I recommend trying the roasted chicken quesadilla; with queso
cheese, corn, mushrooms, peppers and ancho chili for lunch and a fillet
of salmon; with orzo (pasta) and a vegetable salad for dinner.
Sarabeth's prices are reasonable; with breakfast ranging from $4.00 to
10.00, brunch ranging from $7.00 to $15.00, brunch ranging from $4.00 to
$15.00 and dinner $7.00 to $27.00. To keep up with the demand of fresh
ingredients Sarabeth's is open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
and Sunday's. Late December to early April Sarabeth's is open on Mondays
for breakfast and lunch. |
