La Te Da Key West ReviewsWe just returned from our trip to the Florida Keys and had a great two night stay booked at the La Te Da Key West after viewing the virtual tours and reviews here. We loved our room and it was exactly the way it looked on line. The rates for the quality of room you get can not be beaten. They were one of the few hotels that didn't increase their room rates due to Thanksgiving holiday. We booked a deluxe room that opened right on to the pool deck. The rooms were very large, clean and tropically decorated (just like the pictures). The staff is really cool and laid back. They've got a great full continental breakfast with eggs/toast/potatoes the works. All served there in their restaurant. This was really great, and not like the cereal toast like most "free" breakfasts are. Great place to stay in Key West!
Awesome little hotel on Duval street. The staff bent over backwards to help in any way they could. We asked for extra towels and pillows and they were brought to our room promptly with a smile. A little test we like to do. no problems. They have two large bars, with classy entertainment. One has a piano that makes for a nice atmosphere and fun at times. A large heated pool and private sunning deck is upstairs if you want to loose the tan lines. We walked down Duval several times everyday. The LaTeDa is located near the Southern Most Point, Lighthouse, Hemmingway Home, and easy walking distance to all the other sites on the island. The Mallory Square celebration, was fun every night, and had one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. I recommend this hotel and I am picky about where I stay. You'll be happy even if you're picky like me.
My husband and I stayed at the La Te Da last week, and have a lot great things to rave about! We chose the cheapest room (standard), which was fine, large enough, clean, and comfortable. Big King size bed, little bathroom, mini-fridge and TV (which surprisingly a few hotels in Key West don't offer). Lovely free breakfast was served in the restaurant every morning, and not the nasty continental stuff. No crusty bagels and stale donuts, a real breakfast. The bar was tons of fun and had great bar tenders every night. A lot of bars down the street are hard to even get a drink in. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the cabaret show upstairs because it was sold out every night we were there! It must be really good! Next time, we'll make reservations for it before we come down. The grounds are absolutely adorable and tropical. Great pool right outside our room. There's a European sundeck that's upstairs and private from the pool. The only bad reports we have are: 1. they do not have a parking lot at all, you have to park in the street. We didn't have much trouble finding parking. If you plan on staying for a while there are meters all around the hotel. Go around the corner and drive around a little. There's a few spots that don't have a meter to feed, and you won't have to worry about the car or parking tickets 2. they're on the other end of Duval away from the nightlife and Mallory Square. But this also works out (even a plus for some) because it's not that far from one end to the other. We walked the whole thing everyday. We took a cab in the evenings when we had too much fun (to walk) :). No such thing? Yeah. You'll see. We highly recommend La Te Da if you want to have a good time and not spend a fortune! Great value on the rooms. Thanks.
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. When I told people where I was staying, all of a sudden everyone was an expert on Key West and said: "Oh man dude, that place is gay, you don't want to stay there on your honeymoon!" I then had the pleasure of calling the hotel a few weeks before we left to ask: "are you for gays only?" I figured I would get a bad reaction. The guy at the front desk just laughed and said "we get that question from time to time, no worries. We're all welcome. If you're looking for a nice laid back place to stay, then we're the best. We don't care if you're gay, straight, purple, or blue. Just come ready to relax and have fun. It's adults only so you won't have any kiddies kicking you in the head when you're in the pool." I had to put this review in and tell all my friends how wrong they were. First of all it's Key West. The attitude is the same all over. This is the most friendly place I have every visited. Everyone is really nice and the staff at the hotel really went the extra mile to help me make this trip romantic. I got a room with Jaccuzzi, we had champagne waiting for us, the room smelled like fresh flowers, it was insanely clean. They help arrange an in-room massage. The decor of the room was tropical and like a bungalow in Fiji. The pool is open 24/7 and it's about a three minute walk to the best beach on the island. Like the guy at the front desk said. If you're straight, gay, green, blue, purple, it doesn't matter. La te da baby. The place to be.
