Key Lime Inn Reviews

The Key Lime Inn Key West is a great choice if you want to stay in a hotel that has Key West's charm and style. The grounds are tropical and the architecture of the buildings are Colonial Caribbean in style. The pool is nice and big for Key West. many of these smaller places have tiny little "dipping" pools if they have one at all. Tall palm trees shaded the sundeck around the pool and comfy lounge chairs were great for naps in the sun or shade. We had a deluxe king, in the two story building. I wished I had booked a cottage after seeing how cute they are. I didn't ask to move because I'm pretty sure they were sold out. I was told I was getting one of their last rooms when I called to make my reservations. Our room was more than satisfactory. The bathroom had a stand up shower and no tub, which was fine for us, but might something you can ask for too. The hotels location is perfect. It's close to everything downtown, yet far enough away that noise from the bars and action isn't a problem. Best of both worlds. We walked around to everything and never once needed to move the car. That's another rare thing to find in a Key West Hotel, a Parking Lot. Most do not have one. Another Key Lime bonus. If you're going to walk down to Mallory Square, at the other end of Duval it's a little bit of a hike. We were by the pool and realized we wanted to catch the sunset down there and left about 30 minutes ahead of time. We were there in about 15 minutes at a relaxed pace. We could have strolled down there and picked up a cocktail on the way easily. If you're in a hurry call a cab and that will get you to the other end in a few minutes for about $5. But that's a free cocktail at that point and we needed the exercise because we ate way too much food during this vacation. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars surrounding this place. We'll definitely go back to Key West and will stay at The Key Lime Inn!
My husband and I stayed at the Key Lime Inn during Fantasy Fest. As soon as we arrived we received a free upgrade to a Deluxe King room from the Superior that we had originally reserved. We were not all unhappy with this change. The new room was great. It was upstairs in the Mallory Building. The room had fourteen foot ceilings and a balcony, which was nice to relax on in the cool evenings and watch the craziness go by. This is a wild time. We've been to Mardi Gras and the atmosphere is incredibly different. There is a lot of drinking, nudity, and partying but people in Key West are more respectful. Especially to the ladies who are respected here as they are not at all in New Orleans. More of a sixties feeling of freedom and fun. Not as raw or rude. Back to the hotel. The Key Lime has a continental breakfast poolside which is the perfect location for breakfast. Under the shade of palm tree, slightly hungover from the night before. Great recovering area. Everyone raves about how great the fact is that they have a parking lot, so I'll just add that if you think it's great during regular season, You'll really love it during big events like this. My hubby and I loved the location of the Key Lime. It's about 200 yards from Duval on the quiet end. A walk down to Mallory Square and back is great. Again, most people rave about it being at the quiet end, but it's better for a round trip of going down and back during the day, especially if you hang out at south beach. We walked from one end to the other many times every day. Very nice to just hangout in different areas and easily walk to a new location to view all the people having a good time. The room had a safe, an lcd tv on the wall, and a private bathroom. I found many places that had rooms left for this event did not have private bathrooms. Guess that works for some but all I can say is......no thanks. I found the staff to be fun and pleased to help with questions. I would here without hesitation again if we return to Key West.
