My wife and I were searching for a hotel in Key West and found your site. We booked directly with the owners who were like old friends by the time we left, and made us feel right at home. We had never been down there and knew it was the most tropical place to travel without actually leaving the states, but we really wanted that tropical feel, which turned out to be hard to find. We were dreaming of a private little BnB or guesthouse that had a heated pool, hot tub, and the amenities you’d expect from a big hotel. Papas Hideaway fit the tall order and was less expensive than a lot of hotels in Key West that didn’t even offer a pool! As I did more research I found that a pool is rare and heated pool is extremely rare to find with good rates.

When we got there, we took a cab from the airport and had read that walking to everything was a breeze. This was true. We walked to the southernmost point, beach, Duvall street, and all around the island and discovered that Papas is truly a hideaway, but at the same time right were you want to be. There are bike rentals right there and we did rent them one day when we wanted to explore a little faster and further. Key West is only a little 2 by 4 mile island so renting a car is way overkill and a waste of money. In addition to a great location and beautiful tropical setting, even walking down to the end of the street, the noise increased substantially. We had a few late nights and where standing in front other hotels with a lot of cab traffic and bars and just a throbbing music blasting and we said to each other how thankful we didn’t end up staying there. The closer we got back to papas, the quieter it got and we stopped at our door one night and I said; “you hear that? Hear what? Exactly!” It was like a totally different place just a short walk away. It was almost weird. My wife and I are light sleepers and we slept like babies every night.

With free breakfast, a heated pool, wifi, and all the amenities they offer for prices that are frankly cheap for what you get, You’ll have a hard time finding anything equal to Papas hideaway. We’ll definitely be heading back to Key West and plan on bringing friends. Great pick.
