Business was not usual for the entire state over the weekend and into the earlier portions of the week. Vacations and hotel revenues were cut short or cancelled all together as a result of the first storm to actually hit the sunshine state in several years.
The Hemingway Days festival is quickly becoming one of the most popular events during off season. Many hoteliers saw full houses booked earlier than normal. Revelers trying to find a place to stay for all the festivities down at Sloppy Joes and all over Old Town quickly found fewer vacancies.
