My wife and I
stayed here for a week recently. We have stayed in other hotels in Key West and in my opinion,
La Te Da is the only place to stay on the island. It has everything
Key West is about.
The staff is friendly and very helpful, the room was clean, the pool
had a secluded feeling and was surrounded be tropical plants. Even though it was
in the middle of building, it felt private. The food was
fresh and tasty, the drinks at the bar were reasonable, and so were the room rates.
Helps to book direct. They're close to shopping, restaurants
and South Beach at the end of Duval (which is by far the best beach on the
island) couldn't be any better located. We had one too many
margaritas at the bar, and a romantic evening in the hotel. This is a good
thing, because we have a
beautiful little baby on the way! We highly recommend the La Te Da (and the
margaritas), and where else do you stay and then get a hug from the host when
you're leaving? We can't wait to stay here again.
My trip could not have been made better without a stay at the La Te Da. From the time we
checked in, to the time we left, everything was great. The
staff was cheerful and extremely helpful. It was nice to find out there was a few
fellow Michiganders that worked there too. That made us feel right at home.
The bar and the food in the restaurant is some of the best I have had in Key West.
I agree the bar
tender made fantastic margaritas. Better than a certain place named after them!
We stayed at LaTeDa for a few nights in August. Another lovely hotel we were due to stay for a second time was fully booked. Upon Check-in at LaTeDa we were greeted by a British host who reminded me of Michael Cain. He quickly pointed out that my car was pointing in the wrong direction and I was likely to get a parking ticket. In addition to being informative, this made us laugh and also broke the ice. We were escorted to our room just above the restaurant and it was much more elegant then I had expected for the rate we paid. It had a full shower in marble tiles and a gorgeous colonial style king size bed. The decor and attention to fine details throughout the room was absolutely first class. They could charge more and get it easily. We lucked out that our normal digs were sold out. LaTeDa will be our normal digs from now on for sure.
We sat at the bar every evening listening to a duo of guitar and piano which was
great. Later we watched the bartender perform to the few guests while the
owner watched over the till and helped serve drinks. They were not overly chatty with new
guests, and having been in the hotel trade for years, I know it's a fine line between being
overly talkative and being welcoming. Breakfast was a nice surprise. Real
breakfast in the restaurant. The La Te Da Hotel is a very nice place to stay, which I am
happy to recommend and would stay again without hesitation. Well Done guys,
thanks!
We checked the reviews before staying at the La Te Da for the first time. They
highly exceeded our
expectations, even with all the rave reviews. It was great, with a wonderful
clean room, the staff was very friendly, lovely
big pool... and of course the famous cabaret show was spectacular...
Thanks La Te Da. It was truly an unforgettable vacation.
