Olivia by Duval is a great little hotel just half a block off of Duval St. in Key West. If you've never been down to Key West, this is where all the action and things to see are located. My husband and I reserved a quaint room in the front part of the hotel. from the front, Olivia By Duval looks like a house. For the best rates on the island we didn't expect much, but were surprised at what we got. We've been down to Key West and always try to find a cheap hotel or bed and breakfast that isn't too shabby. We have booked late and ended up in some poor quality and some high quality and cost hotels because we booked late. The quality of the room was equal to some of the more expensive hotels in Key West we've stayed in. The room consisted of a bedroom with a clean bathroom. Nothing fancy, but incredibly well kept for the price. Location is what makes this hotel such a great value. It's right off Duval and about a five minute walk to the best beaches on the island. In ten minutes you can be anywhere in oldtown you want to be. All this and they even have a pool! The pool is private with plenty of room to layout and enjoy the sun. Most hotels in Key West don't even have a pool, and Olivia by Duval has a rather large one. The hotel manager is a really nice guy and he's glad to help with recommendations for anything. We will be staying at Olivia by Duval from now on.We have also stayed in Key West many times. We've tried the super cheap and moderately priced bed and breakfasts and hotels. There's no doubt for the money there is no better value for accommodations than Olivia By Dual in Key West. The pool is surrounded by a tall fence, there's a grill, tables, chairs, umbrellas, and plenty of sun and shade. We filled cooler with beer, grabbed some burgers and chips, and proceeded to have a pool party. The poolside grill was great. There aren't too many places for a lot more money you can grill out and enjoy yourself like that. We ended up staying in the larger room in the back of the property and for what you get at Olivia the rates are ridiculously cheap. There's no hotel anywhere near Duval Street for the same rates with a private bathroom. You'd have to stay at the youth hostel to beat it. You may only save a few bucks staying clear on the other side of the island in a chain hotel too. There are few hotels left anywhere offer this good of a deal. We too will always stay at Olivia By Duval, because we like wasting money on beer, not hotel rooms. The virtual tours are great and you can see the rooms are nice.
If you're looking for a cheap place to stay with nice rooms and a pool, you'll be hard pressed to beat this place. There are a lot of great deals on the corporate hotels in newtown (away from the action) that will get you a nice cheap room, but if you want a pool and be close to the beach and Duval, this is it.
