Vacation TipsHotels in Key West for the most part are different than the run of the mill accommodations you'll typically find in other destinations. This list of the 10 highest rated hotels in Key West offers the best lodging in paradise and is made up of privately owned establishments, corporate name brands and true luxury resorts. If you have never stayed in a hotel that isn't the same as every other property of the same name, you're surely in for a real treat. Even the corporate hotels have a little something different whether it be a little casual charm or more often a decor that is more Caribbean in style than most of their counterparts under the same namesake.
Duval street is the main road through the old town area and most likely the area to which you'll want to find a place to stay for your vacation. Depending on your planned activities, proximity may be more of a priority for the beach or shopping. Take a look at our map on the other side of the page. There you'll find all the hotels, resorts, bed n breakfasts and Inns listed with markers designating their exact location in relation to the rest of the attractions. This way you can choose your home away from home based on its relation to what interests you the most.
From one end of Duval to the other, you'll find more bars per capita with shopping and fantastic restaurants. If you're traveling down to party the nights away then you're probably going to more interested in finding a hotel closer to the Mallory Square area (see top of map near sunset). No matter where you stay, all of the properties within a short walk into the Old Town area are going to suit you fine. Basically all the hotels on the map are in the area you want to stay, it's really a matter if you want to be near the beach and have a more relaxed atmosphere. The further south you get (closer to the beach) the quieter things get and you end up down by the southernmost point marker seen on the map. There's still plenty of bars and things to do, but the dancing and music is traded for fine wines, art galleries and conversation. Parking is much more prevalent at this end as well.
