El Rancho Key West Reviews:
My
parents take a Key West Vacation every year
for their anniversary and have for as long as I could remember. When they travel
to Florida, they usually look for the cheapest motel they can find. On their
previous vacations, they stayed at the
Comfort Inn
and I know they stayed at the Days Inn on a vacation a
few years ago. They have
brought us, my sister and I, a couple of times in the past but tend to have a
better time by themselves. This year we are old enough to drive down on our own
and have a great time just the two of us. The biggest difference is that we
didn’t have the kind of money my parents have for their vacations so we needed
to find a down town hotel on a budget. The El Rancho Key West was just the
ticket. We rented a room with two double beds and private bathroom for a steal!
The room was clean and comfortable. The location was outstanding. Jenna and I
had a chance to get to know one another again as young adults and found that we
really like each others company. She is the greatest sister a brother could ever
have. The El Rancho was a great place to stay for us and we plan to recreate the
trip again in the future before we get out of college.
I am
one of those people that did not heed the warnings of the travel agent, front
desk clerk, and websites. I did not book in advance. Once we arrived in Key West
we couldn’t find a vacancy anywhere, well accept for five hundred dollar rooms
at the biggest and most expensive places on the island. We nearly gave up all
hope until we tried the El Rancho. Beggars can’t be choosers right? The room was
real cheap and available, well almost, it was their last room and it had the
wrong sized beds. We prefer a king, we are very big people, and we had to settle
for two doubles which meant we had to sleep in separate beds. But all in all the
room was very clean and the beds were comfortable enough, even more so than the
one we sleep in at home. It is interesting that we ended up saving a lot of
money and staying in a nice place. People always talk about the hotels being so
expensive near Duval Street, but the El Rancho Key West was only two blocks off
of Duval and very reasonably priced. On our travels through Florida, we try to
stay cheap and we stayed at the Ambrosia Key West and
that was more expensive, however a much nicer hotel. The only thing I would do differently is
book in advance next time so that we could get one bed instead of two.
