Eden House Key West Reviews
We just returned from a lovely stay at the Eden House in Key West. It was perfect. Just Five blocks off of Duval, which was great because it was far enough away to be peaceful and quiet, yet within stumbling distance. There’s an elevated gazebo, hot tub, heated pool, hammocks and swings galore, and a really different setting than any hotel we’ve ever seen. We’ve staying in small boutique hotels like this in the past, and a big risk you take and we’ve had our share, is the rooms being a little under kept or downright dirty. Most hotels have a cleanliness standard, and at a certain price range you know you’ll certainly have a clean room. This is not the case with the small privately owned hotels. I’m glad to report that we had a very clean room. The standards at the Eden House are very high, not only for the rooms but the grounds as well. Another big concern is the privacy and how sound proof the rooms are. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels with thing walls, and there are a lot of things you just don’t want to hear or be woken up by. This wasn’t an issue, so I think I can say with confidence the walls are thick and well insulated.
The complimentary happy hour each evening offered the opportunity to mingle and meet other guests. There were a lot of guests there on their honeymoon or anniversary. This is a romantic place to stay after all and the guests reflect that. This isn’t a place for the all night spring breakers and partiers. Everyone was very respectful and we were never woken by a slamming door, ice maker, elevator, or any of the usual hotel annoyances that are not a problem here. All were very happy. We discussed the cleanliness issues with other BnB’s and everyone said that the Eden House has to be one of the best kept and clean accommodations in Key West. If you’ve never been there, the entire island is actually clean and well kept too.
Depending on the direction you go from the hotel, will either put you on Duval or the historic harbor walk and marina. There are great restaurants there like the schooner wharf and conch republic. A lot fishing and diving boats there too. We sat at the bar and watched the charters come in with their catch and watched the sunset cruise parties stumble back onto the mainland. Key West is a great place for people watching.
Our favorite thing about the Eden House was the overall feel of the place. I guess you could call it an ambiance, but it’s just plain tropical and quiet. There’s a nice sundeck to get a tan, which didn’t get much mention but was very nice. If you like relaxing in a hammock with a cool breeze either taking a rest or reading a book, the Eden House has you covered. They offer a heated pool and full apartment suites for the whole family or large groups, which was perfect for us.
If you've recently stayed at the Eden House, please send us a review and let us know what you think! Was it a great place to stay? Would you recommend it to your friends? We look forward to hearing from you!
