Duval House Key West Reviews: I recently traveled to Key West Florida with my wife on vacation. It was our first time on the island and we loved it! Prior to arriving we had made reservations to stay at the Duval House Key West via the web. The price was right around the mark we had in mind but what really sold us was the location. When you go to an island like Key West I feel that it is very important to experience a place much like the locals do on a day to day basis so that I can get a real feel for a destination. When we were exploring and traveling around on our vacation we stopped in a took a look at some hotels in the same area and price range. We liked the Westwinds because they had two pools and were close enough to Duval St. A nice cheap hotel was the Duval Inn if you wanted to be close to the action but not pay the same rates in the off season. The Mermaid and the Alligator had a nice complimentary wine in the evening that we heard about and felt jealous. Who knows what vacation might spark a change in address. When we arrived at the Duval House it was at an unexpectedly late hour do to unforeseen flight delays. We were nervous about being let in and shown to our room because it is more of an unconventional accommodation. We needn’t have worried however; they were more than accommodating and took very good care of us. We simple phoned ahead from the Denver airport we were stuck at and they took care of the rest. The morning after our arrival and with a wonderful night sleep under our belts the Duval Houses’ front desk clerk helped us plan the next few days of Key West adventures. Each and every activity was superb. The restaurants that he recommended were spot on for the cuisine we were feeling at each given moment and the nightlife was as low key or adventurous as we dared to go. The vacation all together was marvelous in part because of the Duval House as well as the weather and the island of Key West itself. We look forward to returning soon.
