Azul Hotel Key West Reviews
We used to stay in this Hotel / Inn when it was the Lightbourn Inn. The building is still there but it is an all new place. Now called the Azul. I like the new name and it is a fantastically elegant tropical inn that is clean, new, modern, and they managed to keep the charm of Key West at the same time. Each morning they put out a nice little breakfast of fruit, cereal, breads, etc. No hot cakes or omelets to order or anything, but a nice simple breakfast which we took out on the patio and enjoyed under an umbrella each morning. Bananas are great after a long night out on the town. Potassium is your friend. We've enjoyed the Lightbourn Inn over the years and must say that the new owners have out done themselves. They didn't add any rooms either. That was one of the main draws to this place, they only have nine rooms or so, and they are adults only. No kiddies kicking you in the head in the pool. It's a relaxed and yet sophisticated atmosphere. I booked directly with the Azul and was treated to an attentive and friendly staff. The pool is still surrounded by the inn and foliage, making more private than a lot of other bed and Breakfasts in Key West. They're only a few blocks off of Duval, and then a few more down to south beach, so if you do decide you want to leave, everything you want to go to Key West for is available. I have to say that the accommodations were so nice I didn't venture out much on this vacation. The pictures don't do it justice, they have really made this property a real gem and the rates haven't gone through the roof. That reason enough for me to come back and highly recommend the new digs. Great job, we'll be back!
