Alonzo's Oyster
Bar in Key West, Florida is a place definitely not to be missed! It is
located right on Front Street, overlooking the Key West Bight.
Alonzo's is a lunch favorite by locals and tourist alike. We were given
the choice of dining inside or out. The outside dining sits practically
right on the historic A & B fishing dock. We chose to dine outdoors and
enjoy the view of the historic seaport and A & B Marina.
Alonzo's is open for lunch and dinner daily. We noticed, that they have
a huge happy hour menu with the largest selection of warm water and cold
water oysters found anywhere! We were here for a week and tried all
three menus. The service was incredible and whether you dined inside or
out, the food was wonderful! We preferred sitting outside.
The lunch menu offered so many choices of delicious oyster and clam
combinations. We agreed to try Alonzo's combo. It was a sampling of the
most incredible oysters and clams we have ever tasted! We shared key
lime garlic oysters, spinach parmesan oysters and andouille sausage
clams casino. If that was not enough, there was Bahamian conch Ceviche,
pink Key West shrimp and southern fried fish fingers. The fish is fresh
from the local docks! The salads were crisp and fresh. The sandwiches
were huge and the crispy lobster on a baguette was to die for!
We went back another night for dinner and were delighted with the same
great service and atmosphere. The dinner entrees were out of this world.
We had a choice of fresh Grouper, Snapper, Tuna and Mahi Mahi prepared
several different ways. Fresh Florida lobster and conch was on the menu
and it was delicious! Everything was just so good! We topped off an
amazing meal with home made key lime pie, a local favorite.
Alonzo's Oyster Bar is part of a Key West tradition. The restaurant
belongs to the A & B Lobster House sitting right on the edge of old
town. The fishing docks are right in front of Alonzo's and the A & B
Lobster House, the fish comes in fresh daily. It is with in walking
distance to all the historical sites and the famed shopping of Duval
Street.
We will definitely go back on our next visit to Key West and recommend
Alonzo's Oyster House to our friends and family.
