Casa Marina Resort Key West Reviews

The
Casa Marina Resort in Key West was built in 1920 and is absolutely
gorgeous. The pool and beach are the best around with a sundeck you
can swim right up to. If you're looking for a first class resort for
relaxing quiet atmosphere, this is it. No loud music pumping out
over the beach and pool areas. Just nice quiet rolling waves and sea
breezes to lullaby your cares away. The wait staff is very well
trained to keep themselves nearby and available if you wish to flag
them down for a cocktail or snack, however they do not ask you if
you want anything. I hate paying a ridiculous amount of money to
relax on a white sand beach, only to have it ruined by a waiter
asking me every five minutes if I need a drink. This always happens
just as I'm falling asleep or begin to truly relax. Well done by the
training staff. They can use you in Jamaica and Mexico. The rooms
are recently renovated and done stylishly. The decor is warm and
modern. The size of the rooms are designed for guest comfort and not
maximum profit. This is attributable to the age of the property.
Newly built resorts do not offer this much space. Scooter rentals,
bikes, jet skis, and pretty much anything you would need to rent for
local transportation and fun are available right there on the
property. Scooters are the best way to see the entire island. I've
read some other reviews suggesting renting bicycles. I disagree,
unless you enjoy riding and pedaling in the heat for miles. It is a
small island but there's plenty to see and do two miles away on the
other side of the island. I think I'm more of a discriminating
client and the Casa Marina really impressed me. Enough to come back
here and write about it anyway. I recommend it.
My husband, 2 sons and I stayed at the Casa Marina in
Key West for
five nights in early June. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The
resort is located on a private white sand beach that is a
picturesque setting. The grandeur and architecture of the building
is impressive from every angle. They also have a pier that goes out
off of the beach. We went snorkeling off of the pier and saw a lot
of fish. The kids loved it. Our room was lovely and of coarse
renovated. We had a plush king bed that we melted into each evening.
I found some really old reviews of how the hotel needed renovations
and they absolutely hit it out of the park as far as I'm concerned.
You can tell the spent the money necessary to bring it up to date.
The more recent reviews are all raving about how great it looks now
and we were very impressed. Again with the other reviews I read that
many people found it necessary to rent bikes or scooters. If you
walk around the island, Duval street is about five minutes away and
you will walk about a mile if you go to the other end. If you do
rent scooters wear a helmet. We watched a lady who should have been
wearing one and she fell and hit her head. We were fine walking
around. We stopped into many of the great restaurants along Duval
and had appetizers. We figured we were walking off the calories.
When we got down to Mallory square and watched the sunset the kids
wanted to call a cab. We rented a car and drove around the first
day. The hassle of parking and moving the car seemed unnecessary and
unproductive. We did find a place to park it on the street right
down the road and avoided paying for valet parking at the resort.
Everyone was happy with the new looks and service at the Casa
Marina, and so were we. We'll be staying here for years to come.
The 4th of July private fireworks display from the beach makes the
Casa Marina Resort the place to be. They don't skip the high quality
pyrotechnics. There are many towns in this country that pale in
comparison to that of the Casa Marina. My husband and I laid out on
the beach and enjoyed the best fourth celebration ever. There's food
and it's popular to say the least. Show up early for the party to
secure a place on the beach. While we were lucky enough to be there
on the fourth, this is a first class classic resort in Key West. The
other resorts on the island just don't have the history and charm of
this place. There's snorkeling and jet skiing right off of the
beach. The pool is huge and the bar is well serviced. We did our
share of patronizing that bar too. I can say without hesitation that
this is certainly the best resort in Key West, and in Florida. I
can't wait until next year!
