The Reach Resort Key West Reviews

We selected The Reach Resort from this list of fine Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. Given the fact that the constraints of Key West being a small island out in the Caribbean, the Reach stands out significantly. The Reach is a phenomenal resort by any standard. My husband and I have been blessed with the ability to tour much of the caribbean, and in my opinion the reach is considered one of the best. I searched the other hotels on this site and if you want a private beach, in this great location, for a reasonable price considering the alternatives, the reach is the best choice. I appreciate this site giving the number to the front desk to make reservations with then hotel directly. This is very rare these days. The quality of the room, the pool, and beach were all well maintained. I would recommend the Reach Resort to anyone.


I too found the Reach Resort in Key West on your site, and wanted to say thanks. I had read some reviews about pre-paid reservations being required, but that isn't all that unusual. We had no plans on canceling our vacation. The only problem I could see is if wasn't as advertised or you didn't like it. I would think someone would have to be out of their mind not to be happy with everything at the Reach. Unless you despise white sand beaches, friendly staff, big pools with bars, and of coarse spacious clean rooms with an ocean view. If that sounds like a bad thing then you will hate the Reach. We had a fantastic vacation at this tropical resort. I came home a big fan. I booked a standard room at first and when I got there decided to upgrade to an oceanview suite. For a very small charge they upgraded us to a heavenly suite. If it's in your budget, spring for the oceanview, it's well worth it. The suite had a big fluffy king size bed, tiled floors, and big balcony with a breathtaking ocean view. We had never been to Key West before, so we didn't realize how lucky we really were. There is a quite art district and a crazy loud bar district. The other resort hotels are in the bar district for the most part and we were standing right in the heart of it, right in front of several big resort hotels. The music was screaming out from the bars, the people, the cars, it was like time square. This was at 3am and this continued for another hour! I said to my husband, we are so lucky to be staying away from all of this. Could you imagine the noise in those hotels while you're trying to sleep? We took a cab back to the Reach, got out and as the cab drove away I said, what a difference. We were maybe half a mile away, but it was like another world. You could hear crickets chirping. They were the rowdy noise makers at the Reach! We enjoyed moonlit walks on the beach and had some of the best times of our lives. Paradise found. We will be back as soon as possible.

The beach at the Reach is meticulously maintained. Seaweed and debris will be a problem on any beach. I was very pleased to wake at sunrise the first morning in Key West to see a tractor going down the beach raking up all the debris. It's unfortunate, but many beachfront hotels neglect the major amenity that makes them popular. Who wants to sit on a beach and look at seaweed and dead fish? The premium paid for a room here is duly earned. The care for the rest of the property was also to par, as was the professionalism of the staff. This resort is focused on adjusting to the clients needs. In that I mean that they cater to families with small children by having food and drinks for them at the poolside bar and other touches. They cater to the young couple getting away to relax and forget they have jobs for a little while. Last but not the least of all they cater extremely well to the discriminating client like myself. I am happy to pay for exceptional service and felt as though my patronage was more than deserved. Attention to individual guests is taken in great lengths by the entire staff. The Reach Resort is one of the finest managed resorts in the world. Take it from me, I've been to most of them. I have paid ten times the rate they charge for mediocre service in comparison. My finest complements to the Reach and look forward to future stays.
