After my dutiful month long search online I am pleased to announce that I was able to obtain reservations at the Westwinds Inn Key West. It was such a great place to stay for our last vacation that I will save a great deal of time next year searching for my accommodations. I see no reason ever to stay anywhere else on the Island. My husband and I reserved a week long vacation at the Westwinds. Lets talk about location! Wow, we were so close to Duval and the right end I might add. It was perfect for our daily walking trek to absolutely anything we wanted to do. When we arrived at the hotel and were floored at how lush and green the grounds were,  the website shows the pretty rooms and a few shots of the pools, but you cannot appreciate how neat and tropical the whole kitten caboodle was! We had a blast watching the little geckos run around and eat little bugs while we lounged around with our coffee or cocktails, depending on what time of day it was of course. The front desk staff was very friendly and most helpful with renting bikes or scooters, trips and daily excursions like water sports. We came to fall in love with the quaintness of this charming bed and breakfast. Especially if you take their great rates into consideration we simply wouldn't have changed a thing except we would have stayed for another week if we could have. The two pools on the property  were a constant relief from Key West's hot summer sun. We would recommend especially for the money to stay at Westwinds, I can't see you finding a better deal. If you are looking for four star luxury with a bunch of rich people, perhaps this one isn't for you, but for a taste of quaintness and old world Key West charm, book the Westwinds inn.
