My wife and I stayed at the La Te Da over
the holidays. We
checked in late, right in the middle of a Christmas Eve party. The front desk was closed
for the night, but I guess the bartender was expecting us. He greeted us by name
and was very courteous and funny. The entire staff was absolutely
delightful. Everyone had a smile all the time and seemed very happy to have us
there. We felt very welcome at all times. The room we stayed in was large, and
so was the
2 person Jacuzzi. The holiday decorations were beautiful and their big Christmas tree was one of
the most beautifully decorated that I have ever seen. We really had a great time
every day we stayed there. The only thing that
could have possibly made it better would be to have more time off to stay. We will
definitely
stay there again and tell our friends about it.
My husband and I booked a weekend at the
La Te Da Key West last
year but were unable to go because of family problems. They offered to
hold our deposit for one year, which was very nice, but I ended up forgetting about it!
Last week, we decided to try and go down there and found out it was the annual Poker Run, which sells
out all of Key West every year, usually far in advance. Amazingly the La Te Da had
a last minute cancellation and honored our held deposit an entire year later! The rest of our
time at the hotel, with the friendly staff
more than made us happy with our choice. The property is charming, truly a one of a kind
in Key West. Five star experience and service way beyond the normal call. Their
food and drinks were excellent. Our room was well equipped with Egyptian cotton linens,
Italian
marble bathroom, and tropical elegant furniture (not the cheap stuff). The hotel is located on the quiet
end of
Duval St, if there is such a thing. A quick cab ride or a short walk to
all the rowdy partying. Perfect for when you want to kick back and get away from
the thumping music and crowds. If you
have a problem with noise, then maybe Key West isn't the vacation destination for you.
It's a full out party town. The La Te Da is geared to an older and
more sophisticated clientele, but is not snobbish in any way. I mean that you won't find the
losers who are there to make jackasses of themselves and party till they puke!
You find plenty of those in the less classy hotels and motels. We ate an excellent full breakfast
made to order which was included with the room. The rooms are very
reasonable for Key West and the quality you get. The first opportunity we get, we are booking for
the next
Poker Run. We also plan to visit again sometime next summer during the off-season.
We're Florida residents so we can enjoy the warm winter weather at home! I just can't recommend the La Te Da
highly enough. By the end of our two night, they made us feel like family. The
LaTeDa is our new home away from home. Great place to stay!
We could only stay one night and wish we had more time to stay longer. The
LaTeDa hotel was very
accommodating and clean. The restaurant and bars on the property were a lot of
fun and the pool was
refreshing (and open 24/7). The hotel was close to the many shops, art galleries, and
fine restaurants. It was not close to all the loud bars. Not close enough to
hear anyway but you can still stumble back from them easily. You can easily walk
to all the main points of interest. We saved time and
sore feet by renting bikes. This was the way to go because we parked easily all
over downtown, which is very hard to do with a car. Our
room was the standard, but clean and large compared to most around
Key West. The bed and
sheets were very comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was a
bit small but plenty of room for us. I left a very expensive shirt in the room
and forgot to call and see if they had found it. When I got back home
they had mailed my shirt back to me! I could help but say: La Te Da! Very
cool. My most sincere thanks to who ever
sent my shirt back home! They go way beyond the normal hotels ever do. I'll be a
customer for life. I only wish everyone was like that.
My husband and I spent six nights at the Key West La Te Da Hotel and had a
fabulous time. They're right on Duval, but far enough away from the busy
and crazy side of the island. Getting a good night sleep was not a problem like
we've had in the past at other place further down. Breakfast
was free with the room, and not the usual coffee, and stale pastries. An real
breakfast with your choice of coffee or juice, fresh warm toast, and either: pancakes, eggs, french
toast, etc. The hosts were very helpful and kind. The food in the restaurant was
superb, and the
cabaret show in the upstairs nightclub was so much fun. We will surely stay here again
when we return to Key West.
My husband and I have been to Key West many times over the years. We have stayed at a different
hotel or resort
every trip. After our stay with the wonderful folks at La Te Da, we will never stay at any other hotel
when visiting in the future. We said many times to each other we were just
looking for La Te Da all these years. Too bad it took so many to discover it. A
friend had recommended it and she really pointed us in the right direction. The La Te Da is an amazing
and different hotel. They have a very professional staff that truly capture the
spirit and class of old Key Wes. There is not a better time or place to stay. From great
restaurant and bars, to
popular entertainment (sold out every night), La Te Da has everything at the
best rates. Can't beat it.
