My husband and I just returned home from a seven night stay at the Doubletree Resort in Key West. Our room was very nicely appointed  and clean. Compared to other hotels nearby the rooms are really big. We wanted to enjoy the island so we usually left early in the morning and didn't come back until late at night, so we didn't stay in the room very much. It was nice to have the space and have a clean room to come back to after a long day of running around. The shuttle service every hour is extremely convenient. This is their best amenity. The Grand Key is a couple of miles from Old Town. There are plenty of hotels in the New Town area but I believe they are the only ones offering a shuttle. The shuttle only runs until 11pm, and the bars are open until 4am. So plan on taking a cab back to the hotel if you stay out. Beats driving any day. Overall, we were pleased with the resort, the extra amenities, and the great rates for the package. If you don't stay in one of the little bed and breakfasts in Old Town, this is the best resort in Key West.

We found The Doubletree Grand Key Resort the perfect home base for chilling out by the pool during the day, and jumping on the shuttle to Duval Street at night. In about fifteen minutes the bus arrives a couple of blocks off of Duval Street at the historic seaport and your right in the heart of the city. We had to catch a cab back to the hotel one night and it cost us fifteen bucks for three people. When we go back, we'll stay here because we felt that you can relaxing by the pool after a long night at party central, in a resort atmosphere for the price of the chain hotel around the corner was a great deal.

My husband and I reserved the weekend getaway package with the Doubletree Grand Key Resort in Key West. We loved every single minute. After watching the video here on See A Room, I was eagerly awaiting my chocolate chip cookie upon check-in. I was not disappointed from beginning to end. The hotels staff is professional and the maid staff does an exceptional job of keeping the rooms like new. We enjoyed many hours poolside in the lounge chairs drinking margaritas. We consulted the Concierge each morning for the days activities because we wanted to be sure of the weather. Again we were not disappointed, even by the weather. We reserved a couples massage, (again the video, so jealous) by the pool in the cabanas while the waitress served us cocktails. Magnificent experience in an incredible setting.  The hotel is only a couple of miles from the key west old town area, but the shuttle is the best way to get around. Take advantage of it. You can go downtown and not worry about getting back to the hotel. That is unless you close the bars at four in the morning, then a taxi is the way to go. The shuttle is free and drops you in the historic district at the marina. We enjoyed our vacation at the Grand Key resort - hotel. With their facilities, customer service, and amenities they are the best accommodations in Key West. We will stay here next time! We reserved directly wit the front desk as suggested and got a better rate than the "discount" on-line hotel sites. They also have special packages that save more money. We had at least a days worth of bar tabs, I mean shopping saved before we left. He He. Have Fun!
