Key West Snorkeling Reviews

A few weeks ago I took a trip with two of my friends to Florida. We spent two weeks of pure bliss lying on the beach, sipping frozen beverages and touring the southern end of the state. One of the absolute best things that we did was make the drive down to Key West, what an amazing place. While we were that we went snorkeling with Sunny Days.

None of us had ever been snorkeling but it was something that all three of us really wanted to try. Sunny Days has a 9am and a 1pm tour, and a sunset tour. We wanted to go during the day and because being that alert at 9am wasn’t our idea of vacation we opted for the one o’clock tour. We were on the Reef Express, a really nice catamaran and it was a really good length tour, right around three hours. And for as much as we got to do and see, it was really a great price. With tax and all it was about forty bucks each, and it was money well spent.

During the three hours we saw two different reefs. Their remarkable beauty seriously that cannot be put into words. Everyone should see something like this at least once in their lives. The water was the perfect temperature and so blue and clear. There were so many fish, it was amazing. I really wanted to see a turtle. We didn't but I guess they do sometimes, that would be a sight. I’ve never been able to see under water so well or see so much. In all I think we had at least two hours of actual snorkeling, which I hear is really good. I was tiered by the end but so glad we got to see so much.

The crew was terrific and helped us get the hang of things easily. I thought it would be hard, but really it’s pretty easy once you get used to it. We were able to take underwater pictures (so bring a water camera) and our guide gave us tons of information about what we were seeing. The Reef Express was really fast and clean, it’s obvious that this company takes care of their equipment. I think there were about 30-35 people on our tour, but it never felt crowded nor did we feel like we couldn’t get the crews attention.

By far this was one of the very best things that we did on our trip. I would highly recommend Sunny Days. Courteous and knowledgeable staff mixed with humor and top-notch equipment. It was a perfect day; we all agree.
