Olivia By Duval Key West Reviews

Last week my
wife and I unexpectedly found ourselves in Key West for a three day
weekend. We needed to get away from the madness of Tampa traffic and
our rat race lifestyle. It had just been too long. We jumped on the
net and started calling around. We quickly found Olivia By Duval
because of the price on the list. We looked at the virtual tours and
watched the video and it seemed just as nice as the others we
checked out. The price was right for our last minute budget so we
called to book the room. We also read the great reviews on every
page and thought we made a good choice. When we got down there we
realized we made a great choice. The room we got was small and they
told us it was and that's why we wanted it. It was small and so was
the price. It wasn't at all uncomfortable. The room was bigger than
my childhood bedroom and larger than most bedrooms in a house. I
don't dance around or need a large amount of floor space in a hotel
room. It was the perfect fit for us. We had a blast in Key West and
when we need to just get away, we'll be calling Olivia by Duval.
Thanks!
Olivia by duval was a house at one time. It has been converted into
a hotel and bathrooms have been added onto the rooms of the house.
This is what to expect for a regular room here. The rooms are
comfortable enough and for the discount you get for staying here
certainly makes it worth it. The owner showed us a couple of huge
suites for a future stay we are planning with family. They have nice
apartment style suites, complete with full kitchens and multiple
rooms and bathrooms. If you plan on staying in
Key West for a long
period of time, then Olivia by Duval would be my choice. You could
live in these suites for as long as you could afford not to work and
be a beach bum. I thought more about it while I was there and if we
just used the kitchen for a few meals during the week, we could rent
the bi suite and spend less overall. As the name suggests they are
by Duval street. They are literally right on the edge of the bar
district and the art district if you will. Not that Key West is a
metropolis, but Duval is the main strip and it is clearly divided
into two sections. Where Olivia by Duval is situated in between the
two, you have the best of both worlds. Another big selling point is
South Beach and Ft. Zachery Taylor State Park are both within easy
walking distance. Beach, bars, and fun around every corner. Key West
is the place to let loose and Olivia by Duval is the best place to
stay.
We just returned from a wonderful week long vacation in Florida. We
were in Key West for a couple of nights and found ourselves
regretting not just flying right in and staying the entire week.
Next vacation, that is exactly what we are doing. We go to Florida
every winter and have hit the usual spots and just never made it all
the way down. I thought it was kind of bunch of hype built around
this little island. I'm not sure why but I just assumed it had to be
limited because of it's size. I have to say I was floored by how
they have maximized the space on this little jem of an island.
I found out there are more bars per capita here tan anywhere else in
the USA. So obviously we loved Key West and I found the Olivia by Duval
on the complimentary computer in the lobby of our Miami hotel. I
watched the video and thought this place looks fun and it had good
rates. What I didn't realize is that with all of the bars and fun
things to do, there aren't a lot of hotel in Key West, and there are
fewer that are reasonably priced. Needless to say we were lucky they
had a cancellation a the last second and had a room for us. The pool
was great and the beach at the end of Duval was awesome. Olivia by
Duval is in a perfect location if you want to be within easy
stumbling distance form the bars but not right in the midst of them.
The further you walk away from Olivia, the louder things get. That
is if you're walking towards Mallory Square. If you walk the other
way, it's quiet and in about five minutes you'll find yourself on a
white sand beach with a lagoon kind setting. Jet skies are cruising
by, people are parasailing and there is a bar and restaurant right
there on the beach. Now for the best part. Grab a chair and
waitresses bring you drinks from the bar. I officially have
heaven on earth. The price and quality of Olivia By Duval made our
time that much more enjoyable. I would recommend booking your hotel
in Key West the second you know your going. If you come down at the
last second you may not be so lucky and get stuck with an overpriced
room. Stay at Olivia, I know I will.
