As you walk down Duval street towards the southernmost point, you'll run into the white sands of the southernmost beach. Their are several beachfront accommodations (listed above) located here. Most locals and vacationers agree that this is the best beach in all of the Florida Keys. The sand is pure white and extremely soft. This is likely the reason it also happens to be the most popular for swimmers. Walking down towards the other end of the island towards the Mallory Square area, you'll find a couple of luxury resorts on the waterfront. Both the Pier House and Ocean Key House offer views of the sunset and Caribbean waters off the island. These are not the cheapest places to stay, but if you're looking for great views of the water and would like to save some money then the southernmost hotel collection or the casa marina resort are going to be the best bet to have both the views and not spend so much. While these resorts are more affordable, they are by no means less luxurious. When it comes to being within walking distance to the best bars and restaurants of the Old Town area, these hotels can't be beat.
