Tampa and St. Pete airports are about an 8 hour drive from Key West. In Ft. Myers there's the Key West Express ferry boat that is only a couple of hours from those airports. If you fly into Orlando you can add about an hour to that trip, but then again you could stop in to visit Mickey. Flying into Miami allows for a short two hour drive down the most scenic roads and bridges in the world. Crystal clear blue waters surround you as you cruise down through these tropical islands. You may want to rent a convertible.
