Fairfield Inn Key West Guest Reviews

We read all the reviews about how the Fairfield Inn in Key West is so exceptional. My wife just got home and I wanted to give my take on things. First of all, I spent a lot of time on this site. I looked at the videos, virtual tours, and pictures. I read the reviews and compared pricing. With all of this in mind I felt like I was playing it safe with the Fairfield. Pictures and virtual tours are nice, but actually being there is totally different. I hadn't chosen just an average hotel here. This hotel is a down right steal. I don't care where you're from or where you stay in Key West. You will not find the quality and service you get from this place for anywhere near the price. I assume because it's so new that they are trying to get the word out. At some point I would think they would raise the rates, but they haven't done it yet. If you can get a room here, book it. You won't find anything better for the money. If you want to spend more for being walking distance down to Duval St. then you may want to look into those options. I did, and it just wasn't worth it at the end of the day. If you go down to party and have a good time, grab a cab. With the money you'll save, it ends up being free!


We have been going down to Key West for over ten years now. We tried quite a few different hotels and the past few years we have chosen to stay in New Town because it's just so much less expensive and we aren't spending any time in the room anyway. As long as the hotel is clean and the a/c works well, we're happy. There are a few dumps to avoid however. I like how See A Room is focused on the rooms and not the building. We kind have a rule that if they just show a picture of the front desk or the outside of the hotel, the rooms must not be worth showing. When we saw the new rooms at the Fairfield Inn, we picked up the phone and called. There's another thing you don't get from most websites. From the first call to the last day we checked out, the entire staff here is very nice and laid back. You go to Key West to chill out and relax and they know that. We go fishing every time we go to Key West. It's the fishing capital of the world and the Key West Bight Marina is about a quarter of a mile away from the Fairfield. As far as the new hotel goes, we were blown away that they would spend so much on the place. This is not your typical cheap hotel. The rates are as cheap as the dumps, but the pool and rooms are like an expensive hotel. They are doing everything right and going way beyond the others. As long as they don't start charging more, we won't be staying anywhere else in Key West.

I think most people just expect to have a place to shower and sleep. If there's a pool or free breakfast it's just a bonus. The Fairfield Inn is nothing but bonuses. For what we ended up paying (off season), this hotel is ridiculously undervalued. Not to be offensive, but you would have to be a fool to pay for another hotel that will give you half of what this one does. Trust me, I have been vacationing in Key West for years and have done it plenty of times. The pool is like a tropical lagoon with a Tiki bar. This is were they serve the beautiful breakfast, which is fresh each morning. No recycling the donuts here. The only thing they're missing is a beach. If they were on the beach, they'd have no problem charging 2 or 3 times as much. Scooters are for rent right outside the front door. I recommend renting a scooter. It's the best way to get around. And stay at the Fairfield. I will from now on.
