We spent a five day vacation in
Key West and stayed at
the Fairfield Inn. It's everything you can expect from a Fairfield, but it's
nothing like any other one we've ever stayed in. It's very Key West in it's
style and they just finished updating it, so it's really nice. When
comparing the Fairfield Inn with the other name brand hotels in Key West, it
just looked a lot nicer for the same price or less than the regulars. The
pool is a lagoon style and big. The rooms are more of a boutique style of
hotel or maybe a bungalow in the Bahamas. The colors and furnishings are not
like any other Fairfield Inn. For the same rates of other hotels in the
area, this is an easy pick.
My husband
and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn Key West recently for a second wedding /
anniversary vacation. We thought everything from the free breakfast to the
quality was exceptional. We made reservations based mainly on name brand and
price. We've stayed in other Fairfield Inns in the past, and most are for
the most part the same. This hotel is very nice and was not what we had
expected at all. For the money, you end getting an expensive resort style of
hotel for a cheap hotel price. They aren't in Old Town and that is really
the only thing I could think of that anyone would have to complain about. I
think the price reflects more than the value of being right in Old Town.
After driving around the island a few times we found that parking is
difficult to find, but if you go down a few side streets, things get easier.
There are two parking garages in Old Town if you don't want to feed a meter.
We ended up renting a scooter for the rest of our stay, and that was a great
move. It was not only fun to ride around, but there's easy parking all over
for them. Scooters are the locals preferred mode of transportation. They
have scooter rentals right there at the hotel so it was very convenient.
They also had bikes for rent, but unless you really enjoy pedaling, I'd
recommend going with a scooter. Key west is an awesome place to take a
vacation, and the Fairfield Inn is an awesome hotel.
We just returned home after a 2 week vacation at the Fairfield Inn Key West.
One word can sum it all up: New. Everything from top to bottom is new and
don't tell the staff they aren't working at a five star hotel, because they
don't seem to know. We have stayed in the best and cheapest hotels in Key
West. The attentiveness of the staff was that of a hotel costing twice as
much. I'm sure the competition for hotels in Key West must be fierce. I
manage a retail store and can tell when employees care or have good
management. By the way the staff treated us, it was obvious they were happy
to be working there and happy to do their job. It's a shame how many people
that work at hotels just don't care. Each morning we could be found down at
the Tiki bar enjoying the great breakfast. Again, this is something you
typically expect to get low quality. Not here. They put out a lovely spread
with fresh danishes, fruits, and the usual cereals for the kids. The setting
was what impressed us. You won't find many hotels in Key West serving their
breakfast poolside. We kept saying to each other how this felt like a luxury
resort, and we chatted with other guests who agreed. We shared our
experiences with restaurants and activities with other guests and got some
great recommendations and places to avoid. This hotel is great and if you
like to stay in a Fairfield Inn because you know you can count on them for a
clean comfortable room. You will be pleasantly surprised and spoiled for all
the others around the country after staying here. We were, and we can't wait
to go back!
