We had reservations for three nights at the Doubletree Grand Key Resort in Key West and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were however winging it on the remainder of our vacation to Florida and had planned on grabbing the ferry to Ft. Myers and messing around there for a couple of days. We had too much fun (not really possible according to my wife) and stayed out until 4am on our last night in paradise. So of coarse we missed the ferry boat the next day, which was fine as we were not in much of a mood for a boat ride anyway. We were forced to sacrifice and stay another night at the wonderful Grand Key. The next morning after a night of rest like normal folks, the concierge for the resort helped us get a rental car and even called for a pickup. They printed road map to Ft Meyers for us and I didn't even ask. This was the level of service I don't see often even in the finest of hotels. Their obvious pride in customer service and quality sets the bar high for other hotels in the area, who have fallen well short of in past stays elsewhere. The hotel is exquisite and the the decor is Margaretville sheik. They provide an hourly shuttle that goes downtown also, so not staying downtown wasn't even an issue. Great place.

I wanted to send my review in to say I loved the virtual tours and video you have of The Doubletree Grand Key Resort in Key West and we had an enjoyable vacation here as well. I hope others read this and find this hotel as wonderful as we did. We planned this vacation six months ago and read all of the reviews on this site and others. I was concerned with some negative comments I found, but they were from seemingly snobby people who complained about things like the shuttle only running on the hour. We didn't find the shuttle "only" running on the hour inconvenient in the least. The opposite in fact. It was great to get a ride downtown and back for free. Stay elsewhere and pay for cabs, or deal with parking and then complain about a free shuttle running every hour. We were happy with everything. The service at the front desk from start to finish was polite and professional. As promised in the video, we received our home made chocolate chip cookies. We enjoyed several meals in their restaurant and more than our share of drinks at the bar overlooking the pool. The pool area was extravagant with the cabanas and setting it was like Fiji. The entire resort was clean and meticulously maintained. If you want a high class hotel in Key West and want to pay the same price as the little bed and breakfasts in oldtown, then stay at the Grand Key.
