We love Key West and go down there as often as we can. We live in Miami so short, last minute vacations for weekend are our forte. For the price (a Hilton owned property) The Doubletree is awesome. Free shuttle eliminates the fact that they aren't downtown and that's what you're saving so much on. That is the only reason they are priced so low for such a nice hotel. If they were down by the other resorts in Oldtown they would be twice the price. When you look over your options in Key West of guesthouses, resorts, and bed and breakfasts, the Grand Key resort in a no brainier hands down.


We stayed at the Doubletree hotel for four nights in January. This hotel is very accommodating and they care about your satisfaction a great deal. Our room was pleasing and smelled like new. I hate musty smelling hotels. The pool area was never over crowded and provided ample cushioned loungers and even cabanas. We felt like royalty sitting in the cabanas and having the cocktail waitress bring us drinks. The pool is in a lush tropical setting and there are plenty of areas to catch some sun if you desire to return home with a tan. Amenities I found others had not mentioned where; an exercise room with treadmills, weight machines, and two computers with free internet access 24/7. The complimentary bus shuttle is very dependable on the hour, you could set your watch to it. They try very hard and it shows in everything. For the rates they charge you more than get your monies worth.
