The Conch Republic Restaurant
and The Conch-A-Ritas
I am in the mood for a Conch-A-Rita...and you know what that means,
don't you? It means we have to go and have dinner and drinks over at the
Conch Republic restaurant in Key West. I am a Snowbird and I am staying
right off Key West, thank goodness, because when I get a craving for a
Conch-A-Rita I have to have one. It makes my husband crazy, but I can't
help it.
I have been going over to The Republic for years and will continue to do
so until I can't get over there any more. I like everything about Key
West, I mean really, what's not to like? This restaurant is one of my
favorites and the Rita is my favorite drink. So for the winter months
when I am in Florida I head on over there every couple of weeks. It's
not quite around the block, so I can not go as much as I would like. I
can't complain though. My sister craves these drinks as much as I do and
she lives in New Jersey all year long!
You should make it a point to stop in The Conch Republic Restaurant the
next time you are in Key West. It is a beautiful thing to sit outside
and watch the boats out on the water. Try some of the delicious seafood
dishes they serve. I never get the beef dishes, how can you eat beef
when you are in beautiful Key West? I've never had a dish I didn't enjoy
and that saying a lot. If you can't get down there try the recipes on
the website. You can't beat the Caribbean Ju Ju Slather for a marinade
or a dipping sauce and the Habenero Chutney is really tasty if you like
spicy...hot...foods.
The folks who run the place call the Republic Restaurant in
Key West
their little piece of paradise...that's funny, because I call it mine!
Make sure to stop in this historic restaurant when you are in Key West.
The people are friendly as can be, the food is delicious, the drinks are
amazing and the view is perfect. What more can you ask for? |
