Chelsea House Key West Guest Reviews

My recent visit to Key West with close couples from Chicago who recommended was highlighted by our stay at the Chelsea House. The charming accommodations, beautiful grounds and friendly attention of staff complimented the Key West atmosphere perfectly. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the back poolside rooms. The room was standard motel size, just big enough for 2 beds, dresser, 2 night tables and a mini-fridge on the floor. The decor was also motel-standard. Some rust stains in the bathroom. Small pool. The location and staff were very nice, I would stay in this hotel again but not in this room which I found dreary. The Key West locals are friendly and helpful, and Key West, especially its back street architecture and its more boutique style establishments, has its charm. It is heavily commercialized though, and organized so that tourists can take full advantage of its income generating offerings from t-shirt and clothing stores to restaurants, bars, trolley tours (a worthwhile 1.5 hours) and sites (Butterfly Conservancy, Hemingway House, etc.). The red and orange Royal Poinciana trees are beautiful on the virtual tours and in person. Guest, Miami, FL

I generally spend 15 to 20 nights a year in Key West, so I have first hand experience with many locations, and was only staying at the Chelsea House because my regular place was unavailable for part of my visit. After a little research I found the Chelsea House here and booked. The Chelsea House was clean and the staff was friendly, and the location is walking distance to just about every place one wants to go. The deluxe queen room I stayed in was fairly large, although the bathroom was very tight. Breakfast in the morning was bland and could have been improved with real, fresh bagels from a bakery, rather than the pre-packaged bagels from the supermarket. All in all, however, you could do a lot worse than this place for the same amount of money. Trust me. Guest, White Plains, NY
