The room that my fiancé and I reserved at the Chelsea House was very clean. We were pleased with the immaculate service they were prompt and friendly. Walking around the grounds of the property was a treat, well-kept, maintained and very clean. The king size mattress in the room was comfortable. The property itself is such a charming larger "Old Key West" style home, with swaying majestic palms which we adored. The continental breakfast was nice but really only an appetizer for the wonderful food Key West hast offer. We felt that the coffee was good. Pastries, selection of yogurt, and some apples made for a nice small breakfast, the apples came in handy for afternoon snacks. The toiletries that the Guesthouse provided in the baths added a special touch. If you do not want any tan lines, this adults only accommodation offers a clothing optional roof-top deck. While we were there women and men alike wore something around the pool area, but did utilize the more private upstairs deck. Fantasy Fest reservations are almost impossible to come by so when we were offered our room for the event we snatched it up.
The location is so perfect for an event such as that and we are really looking forward to it. Now that we know the inns and outs of the island we are going to get real crazy next time. After hours and hours of driving around the island of Key West with no clue as to where we were going to stay, we got lucky and found a room available at the Chelsea house. And that was only because they had had a cancellation due to illness or something. Rule of thumb, always book in advance! The Chelsea House was recommended to us by a travel agent so we buzzed over there and were glad to fill the hotel. Our room was large and had a wrap around porch, which looked so cozy even though it was shared by the room next to us. The B&B has so much character and obviously is very old, yet really well maintained. Some of the original window sills were painted over hundreds of times. Everything was very clean and our room was beautiful. Our room faced nifty Truman street which had a great view of all the interesting walks of life that graced the street on their way to Duval. The church across the street had stories in the very architecture it housed. Perhaps someone looking out of one of those windows was wondering what the story is on this place. We had such a marvelous time, one for the record books.
