This was the fourth year in a row we've stayed at the Blue Marlin In Key West during New Year's. It's clean and the proximity to everything you come to Key West for is ideal, because it's out of earshot for the nights you don't want to party like a rock star until 4am. There's a fresh deli and restaurants on Simonton street if you want to stay close by. Their pool is nice and great for laps if you want a pool for that. I've seen a lot of reviews about how great it is that they have a pool at all which is great, but many that even have a pool have small "dipping" pools. The design and market they tend to attract here is families. I don't think there are many family friendly hotels like this in Key West. We're a couple and there are plenty of couples and singles here too, so in the end if you want a nice place, in a good place, for a great price, go with the Blue Marlin.
We reserved a room at
the the Blue Marlin Motel for three nights, but after the second day we decided
we wanted to stay for a fourth night. We love Key West and recommend it to
everyone considering a vacation. It's two blocks from the southernmost point
marker. There's a homemade ice cream parlor around the corner called the pink
flamingo and we ending each evening there. If you're an ice cream lover you'll
want to move here. The hotel was everything we anticipated and was lovely. Don't
be detoured by the price, they just charge reasonable rates.
We too read the reviews and yes the rooms are bigger than most and clean. The
entire hotel is and well maintained and the staff is polite. We paid about $50 a
night less than the other hotels in the area and that was a major saving for our
week long stay. The pool is huge as they say and has nice chairs and little
tables for your beer. We enjoyed the pool every day and the kids didn't care to
leave. It
was also quiet
while
being so close to the action. We had stayed in the hotels on the other side of
the island and being able to walk out your door to all the action is much
better. I recommend the Blue Marlin to anyone looking for a hotel in the Keys
and don't want to waist money on their room. Exceptional value all the way
around.
