The Best Western Hibiscus in Key West is a great hotel for anyone that's looking for a convenient location close to Duval street, yet not right in the middle of it. Our room was large and clean, and we found it to be a low rate for Key West. We like the Best Western chain for that reason, and this property is no exception. For us it was a safe bet. The virtual tours looked great and the pool was an amenity many hotels didn't have. We have no complaints. This was our first trip to the island and we're glad we didn't get a bad room for our only vacation this year. They include a continental breakfast with the room, which looked nice, however we did not have anything because we wanted to try the restaurants around the hotel. Our favorite was Camille's, which was just a block away. They're breakfast menu offered a unique variety of great foods. The had the usuals too for the ones who don't want to stray from there regular bacon and eggs. The pool was refreshing but warm, which was nice. I think it may be heated. We rented the bikes from the hotel and rode all around. We will stay at the Hibiscus when we come back. Most of the people we ran into had been there before or planned to go back. Key West is a really fun place. I called all around to find the best rates and found the number to call directly here and got the best price for booking directly. Thought I should come back and say thanks.

We've stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus four times in the past and will continue to stay there. The location is by far the best. Just steps from the beginning of all the bars and restaurants Duval street is famous for. We typically show up, park our car in the lot (which most hotels don't have or charge you for) and start relaxing. Walking everywhere you want to go is easy. If you want to rent bikes they have them right there in the lot. There's a Cuban deli right across the street that makes great sandwiches. We eat there for breakfast and lunch often. In fact it's usually our first stop to let us know we've made it. What I really love about the Hibiscus is that the pool and hot tub are completely surrounded by the hotel. The sun still comes in from the top so you can catch a tan all day long, but it provides privacy in addition to keeping the wind out. This hotel is right by the beach and I like not having breezes blowing my stuff around while I'm trying to relax. The staff is friendly and they have no problem with you bringing your own cooler full of your favorite beer and wine coolers down to the pool area. Make yourself at home, all they ask is for no glass and that you just clean up after yourself when you're done. I bring a bag and tie it to the side of the cooler and there's my trashcan. You don't have to move all day if you grab a hoagie from the deli in the morning. The best beach around is two blocks away if you can pull yourself away from the pool. With a national hotel like the Best Western you know the rooms are going to be certain quality. Compared to other Best Westerns I've stayed in around the country this is definitely the highest quality property they have. You won't find a better room or hotel for the money in Key West.

The Best Western Key West is a wonderful hotel. Its location is highly convenient, and a light stroll gets you to any place on Duval you want to be. I've read about how it takes fifteen minutes to walk from one end to the other. My opinion is if you're walking from one end to the other in that amount of time you're not enjoying your vacation. I'm fat and I like to drink. I walked slow and I drank at nearly every bar on my down and back, so personally it took me about thirteen hours to go from one side to the other and I loved every minute. I had a nice hotel to crash in that didn't cut into my fun cash too much. If you plan on going down to have a good time this is a fine place to stay. Have one for me!

My family and I were coming down to enjoy the beach and show the kids the reef. They do a good job of being a party town and a family destination as well. I had feared a bunch of drunken partiers staggering around, but the town is kept very clean, they have street sweepers running daily. This was also true of the Best Western. It's a nice family friendly hotel with no clothing optional areas, of which I have never seen so many in one town. As I said they have something for everyone and the reef snorkeling is something the kids will never forget. We had a great time and will probably come back for some fun and party with the friendly locals. There are some towns were the locals are just not nice to the people that support their lifestyle in a resort town. Key West is not like that at all. Everyone we dealt with, especially at the hotel was very welcoming and seemed happy to see us. Key West is a nice place to visit for anyone.

We found the Best Western Hibiscus to be nicer than we had expected considering it was one of the cheapest hotels in Key West. Spacious rooms, two queen size beds, double sinks which is an option I wish I could take home, a large pool, and attentive staff. Housekeeping came daily and waited for us to wake up and didn't come knocking at any time. They supplied our room with more than enough towels and did a wonderful job. The only downside was that it wasn't right in the action. I've read the reviews of how that is a plus and can see how for some it would be. I think you need to think about what you're coming to Key West for exactly. If you plan on spending the majority of your time at the docks and taking boating trips then that's on the other side of the island. However the added price of staying over there can probably pay for a scooter to close the gap. Just things I'll consider for a return trip.  We walked a lot and in hindsight thought we should have at least rented bikes. we said to each other how much we were going to walking and the bike are right there and everywhere for rent. But everything you want to see is within walking distance, so I'll base my choice on price compared to scooter and bike rentals. Some may call me lazy with that opinion because it's a lazy opinion to not want to walk anywhere. What you don't want to do is drive anywhere. The Best Western has a parking lot and you should use it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to be on the quiet side of the island and get a great room for a lower price.

The best western hibiscus has big rooms with big bathrooms. This may mean nothing to some, but for the few of us who aren't skinny and like space this is welcomed. The bathroom alone was as big as mine at home, and the room was a lot bigger! They're convenient to everything. We didn't need to move the car for five days. The landscaping was well maintained and high quality tropical plants. The breakfast was nothing special. The usual fruits and breads with juice and milk. Not a bad thing and was the only average part about the hotel. I will definitely recommend the Best Western to anyone heading down to the keys and I'll stay there again for sure.

We've stayed at the hibiscus a few times. For a Best Western it's more than the ones you find along the interstate, but it's cleaner, quieter, bigger, and not on the side of the road. It's in paradise. Compared to the other hotels in Key West it was makes this place a deal. It will probably be the most expensive Best Western you'll ever stay in, but you get your moneys worth. If you stay anywhere else it will be really expensive. Value and location are the two most important things to me when I'm vacationing. It's block down south st to Duval and south beach. Parking in their lot is a bonus. Parking in Key West is a premium. The continental breakfast spread is decent. It's my pick.
