My
partner and I had heard about the Atlantic Shores
Key West Clothing Optional Hotel hotel threw the grapevine
and were intrigued. The room was art deco in décor and rather clean and neat. It
reminded me of a Miami Beach hotel on South Beach back in the day. The real
attraction was the clothing optional and fully nude pier of course. It's located
next to the southernmost beach and if you want a little nicer hotel that is
still cheap you might want to look at the
Southernmost
Hotel right across the street. You can still lay out in the nude over at the
shores and we saw some ladies laying out topless on the southernmost beach, so
that me be clothing optional for women. The pool is huge, the
music, wonderfully loud and entertaining, and the sea breeze…well they make the
perfect sea breeze at the bar. The breeze off of the sea was pretty magnificent
too. We had late hours at the restaurant enjoying the company of other guests.
The laughs were plenty and the food was scrumptious. We rarely left the hotel
during the day and found our evenings close each night in the warm loving arms
of the Atlantic Shores. The only things we will do differently next time is stay
longer and bring another couple or two!
When
you plan a vacation to Key West you typically want to have a diverse time.
Diverse meaning different than all the other regular vacations spent in tropical
locations with the same cocktail laden afternoons at some island bar somewhere.
No, Key West warrants a little strange, a little let loose and get wild. The
Atlantic Shores Key West was just the ticket for just such a vacation. We were
very pleased with the décor of the property and room. It was very clean and
different than anything we had ever stayed at in the past. The naked pier was a
site to behold. The first day I stayed clothed for most of it, then gradually I
removed my top. I felt so relaxed and secure there. No one was taking pictures
or staring, it was a very respectable clothing optional area. The pier itself is
really big so there are lots of places you can find your special piece of it.
The bar was so much fun and freeing. I have been cooped up in Ohio as a mother
of three for far too long. My body is not that warn and still looks good, but it
had been many many years since I had felt sexy. My vacation in Key West was the
most liberating and growing experience I have had since my kids arrived. I am
grateful to have had such experiences and met so many wonderful people. I vowed
to go back each year regardless of situation to get that special part of me
back. By the way, my
romantic husband had a wonderful time, he said that I was the woman
he fell in love with fifteen years ago again. I highly recommend the Atlantic
Shores in Key West. You won’t be sorry!
Just stayed
there for weekend after searching over this site. We stayed at the
Duval Inn last year and liked the location, but nude sunbathing
wasn't an option. If you want a better location with a pool area
that allows nudity, then the
Pilot House
is probably the best pick. We also liked the
Lateda Hotel
that's right down the street. This hotel is a
clothing optional "all sexual orientations" welcome place (that
should cover everyone!). If you are a rigid closed minded prude, you
will not last a minute. Rooms are brightly colored, clean and have
comfortable beds. The staff was friendly. The highlight of this
hotel is the pool/bar/pier area. No one cares who or what you are,
everyone is there to have fun - gay and straight. The pool area
becomes quickly crowded with guests and locals. There is no beach
but you can lay out (clothed or nude) by the pool or the pier. The
hotel is on the south western end of Key West -very close to Duval
St and other attractions.
My boyfriend and I go to
Key West often and there is no better place to experience this crazy
carefree island than Atlantic Shores. This is definitely the place
to be when the weekend festivities wrap up to an end. It was a great
weekend for us and we especially enjoyed hanging around the pool all
day Saturday. There is music, drinks, and plenty of sun. It provides
a nice break from the crowds on the other end of Duval and we were
able to relax and hang out with our friends. If you want to get a
chair by the pool, I suggest you arrange for it ahead of time since
the pool can get really crowded. Key West is a very naked, free
town, and Atlantic Shores is a great place to experience it. We will
definitely go back again!
I stayed at the
Shores recently and had a great time. The room was average and
cheaper then most anything. The pool area is not for prudes. But, if
you want to get some sun, have a few drinks, in a great nude
atmosphere, this is the only option I found.
