My
husband and I stayed at the Ambrosia in
Key West Florida over the holiday weekend. We booked our room well in
advance because we have stayed there in the past and know how quickly they fill
up. Our last vacation to Florida it was nothing but resort after resort. This
was nice and something different than the Hyatt Key West
or the beach front gem Pier House. It stands to
reason that the reason they book up is because they are such a great place to
stay. We love the hotel. The majority of the grounds are tended to and covered
with tropical plants. We have spent hours just meandering around the property
with a glass of wine and sitting in different areas. The room we booked at the
Ambrosia Key West was as nice as the one we had gotten last time. I am saying
this because it is nice to know that it is not a fluke. We would stay again at
the Ambrosia anytime. We would also recommend not renting a car, they have
limited parking for those who drive down but the hotel is so close to Duval
Street that you can walk to everything. It is not an expensive cab ride from the
Key West Airport anyway.
The
Ambrosia Key West is the nicest Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed at. We
stayed at the Days Inn because we wanted something
simple and cheap on our last vacation. I've leaned that travel and cheap are not
two words that belong together. The Duval House
was a good compromise for a past vacation. The island style Breakfast in the
morning starts you off in the right direction each and every day. Tropical
local fare nourished us before our daily dives on the open seas. The rooms were
large enough to house all of our dive equipment and still feel like a luxurious
place to stay. After seven days of vigorous sea life and evening meals at
various different restaurants on Duval Street, which we walked to every night,
we felt like real Key West residents. I can only imagine the every day lives of
the natives. We can’t make the move just yet so I guess we will keep coming down
to the Ambrosia Key West on vacation until we can afford a cottage of our own.
